Precision AND Patience--a rare combination! Cynthia Clark is a world class teacher and practitioner who meets each client wherever that individual is when he or she comes through the door. Clearly, she knows what each body needs. Her ability to guide her clients towards health seems to reside in a combination of her serious, detailed understanding of her profession and a lighthearted spirit in conveying it. I leave more energized, or stronger, or balanced, or calmer, or comfortable, or, sometimes, all of the above. - Housewife and equestrian

I wasn’t sure I would like Pilates, but Thinking Body made it fun. The instructors (especially Eleanor) are always positive and encouraging. My exercise program is always varied and flexible, based on my ever changing daily aches and pains. The individual attention cannot be matched anywhere in Charlottesville. Although I’m not sure my bowed legs will ever be fixed (60+ years of bowing), I do feel that I am more balanced, stable, and definitely more flexible. Thank you Cynthia , Eleanor, and Thinking Body. - Attorney

At age 63, with chronic back issues, a friend recommended I consult with Cynthia Clark at Thinking Body. I'd had an MRI, and was close to considering surgery. After six months of Pilates with Cynthia, I had another MRI, and my physician was astounded by the improvement, and I felt better than normal and was able to start riding again. Two years later I continue going regularly. I'm stronger, more flexible, and after each session have a better sense of what's going on in my body. If I started forty, or even twenty years ago, I'm confident I'd never have injured myself. But, it's never too late to start! - Business executive and equestrian

Cynthia has been my weekly trainer for some years. I am 74 and my body is much stronger and better aligned than when I started. - Retired mother

Can't live without Thinking Body. A small, friendly community of knowledgeable trainers and like minded patrons. I haven't felt this good in years. If I'm out of town for a week or so, it becomes very evident how much my weekly training sessions do for me! I'm stronger and more flexible than I've ever been. I feel like I'm getting younger, not older! - Retired Female

Five years ago, at 33, I was diagnosed with Thoracic Outlet Syndrome, TOS. Cynthia has been imperative to both my rehabilitation and learning how to use my body differently to manage this condition. I have moved around many different therapies but the one person I have continued with throughout these years has been Cynthia Clark. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient and encouraging. Thanks Cynthia! - Mother and Real Estate Agent

I stand taller whenever I leave Thinking Body. It's a great feeling!

Thinking Body has helped me to be more balanced and better controlled in my movements.

My experience with two trainers - Emily and now Jessie - has helped me to overcome my imbalance and to function better in my daily life.

The studio is bright and airy. Paintings and a large window onto a butterfly garden enhance the exercise environment.

Thinking Body studio is my ideal place to unwind and to focus on better coordination, posture and flexibility.

I like the background music that is never intrusive when I am focusing on exercises but instead helps to diffuse tension.
